This trip is the only trip where departure is in the evening time, because the animals are mostly nocturnally active, so that is the best time to experience them in their natural habitat. After driving across the Wijdenbosch bridge, we arrive at Marienburg where we cross the Commewijne river to reach Johanna and Margaretha, a previous plantation. We enter the smaller canoes which will take us to the Matapica swamps. In these swamps we will spot caymans together with the local boatsman, and catch a few as well, for photo opportunities. This short but exciting trip lasts from 18.00-22.00 hours.
