This intense expedition starts with a flight from the Zorg and Hoop airstrip to Drietabbetje, which lies in the Tapanahony river. Drietabbetje is also the venue where the night will be spent, and where your first experience with the Paramacan architecture, way of life and culture will take place.

As we head over the Jai creek we’ll fish, hunt and set up camp on the riverbank. After a few days we reach the start of the trails leading us through the forest to the Suriname river, while using our machetes to cut away any unwanted undergrowth.

Day to day activities:
Day 1:
departure from Zorg & Hoop to Drietabbetje. The night is spent at Drietabbetje
Day 2:
departure from Drietabbetje to Jaikreek by canoe.
Day 3:
hike to the trails.
Day 4:
setting up of camp and making of arrangements for the trails.
Day 5 t/m 9:
forest trail to the Surinameriver. The basic survival skills will be taught to you.
Day 10:
Arrival at the Suriname river. The night is spent at Danpaati.
Day 11:
departure to Zorg & Hoop airstrip

* Included on every expedition:
Experienced guide, all meals, all non alcoholic beverages ( water, carbonated beverages ), all transportation, accommodation, medical kit, usage of satellite telephone.

Note : it is customary to pack light, so where needed a camp will be made to spend the night in hammocks (with mosquito-net), and food will be gathered from survival tactics e.g. hunting/fishing while being prepared on wood-fire.
