Nassau mountain Expedition
The Nassau mountain is a +/- 500m tall picturesque mountain completely covered by primary fauna, and is reached over the Marowijne river (bordering river with French Guyana ) and the village Langatabbetje. En route to camp Wadaa, where the first night will be spent, a stop wil be made at Loka Loka. Next is the Sebedu-camp where the expedition will commence. This expedition is an absolute recommendation for people who are adventurous and in excellent physical condition, for it is necessary to use a machete on the trails and food will be gathered by the guides and participants. You will be instructed about the do’s and don’ts in the forest and basic survival skills. Enjoy yourself with our local flora and fauna which are sure to baffle you .

Duration: 6 days
Day to day activities:
Day 1:
departure by jeep/bus to Albina. We board a canoe and head upstream on the Marowijne river to Loka Loka. The night is spent at camp Wadaa.
Day 2:
departure to Sebeducamp, where the journey is continued by foot. This hike takes to our base camp in the jungle and will take approximately 3hours to reach.
Day 3:
the 3 hour ascend to the top of the Nassau Mountain where a breathtaking view awaits. The night is spent at the base camp once more.
Day 4:
after breakfast we hike back to the canoe which will take us back to camp Wadaa, where the night is spent.
Day 5:
on this day we will relax, swim in the mighty Ampomavallen and walk through some neighboring villages.
Day 6:
after breakfast we head back to Albina while making a quick stop at Langatabbetje where the chief in command of the Paramaccans resides. Transportation back to Paramaribo will again be by jeep/minibus.
* Included on every expedition:
Experienced guide, all meals, all non alcoholic beverages ( water, carbonated beverages ), all transportation, accommodation, medical kit, usage of satellite telephone.
Note :
it is customary to pack light, so where needed a camp will be made to spend the night in hammocks ( with mosquito-net ),and food will be gathered from survival tactics e.g. hunting/fishing while being prepared on wood-fire.
