Christiaankondre and Langamankondre are 2 traditional Amer-Indian villages which lie at the mouth of the Marowijne river where the traditional cultures are very important to the locals and is thus conserved. Agricultural activities consist of planting cassava and pine-apple. The traditional makings of ceramic and weavings are kept intact. Christiaan kondre and Langaman kondre are located in Galibi, which is known for its giant sea-turtles. From February to July trips are made to the Galibi Nature Reserve to see the turtles laying their eggs in the sand of the beaches.

While on this tour you will experience a bus-trip to Albina ( the city bordering French-Guyana ), while underway making a stop at the previous plantation Stolkertsijver, a walk through the village Christiaan kondre and a visit to the zoo located at the village. During the season which is from February till July/ August giant sea-turtles emerge from the sea at the Galibi Nature Reserve to lay their eggs (which they do mostly at night), and we’ll offer you the chance to experience this phenomenon up close and personal. On a 3-day tour an excursion is made to the beaches of the Nature Reserve and the largest sand-bank in Suriname, the Tijgerbank, in the midst of the surrounding waters of the Atlantic Ocean and where you will have the opportunity to take a dip and a mud bath if you so desire.
