Kabalebo Nature Resort
Kabalebo Nature Resort is an outstanding resort because it is located in a uninhabited area west of Suriname. A breathtaking journey by airplane of about 75 minutes takes you to the heart of the Amazon rainforest. You will see a very diverse and unique collection of flora and fauna which make this resort a real unique experience. The resort accommodates lots of birds, rare butterflies, lots of fish types and beautiful types of big cats like the Jaguar.
Enthusiastic fishermen will experience an absolute thrill for Kabalebo is the place to be when it comes to catching big fish. If however you enjoy the water without a fishing pole you are able to explore the area in a canoe. From the surface of the river or creeks the view and sheer beauty of the area is sure to inspire you.
Day-to-day program (tour consisting of 3 days):
1st day
Right after welcoming the guests breakfast is served. A hike is next on schedule from the foot of the Misty Mountain to Zandkreek, where you will have the opportunity to lounge on sandbank with a breathtaking view. On the way back to base you will be able to enjoy our flora and fauna.
After the delicious dinner you are free to fill your own time in the hammocks or in the rooms.
2nd day
After breakfast we’ll take you on a cruise on the river or a climb to the Misty Mountain. This is a real example of the name fitting the object, for this 500m ( above sea level ) mountain is a real empowering view from the Nature Resort Kabalebo.
The climb consumes roughly 4 ½ hrs in total. In case u decide to take it up a notch and climb to level 2, an extra of 2 hrs is needed. Back at the lodge we’ll enjoy lunch and the rest of the day is spent relaxing on the pier where you browse through the impressions left from the day. Dinner is the last item on the program.
3rd day
After breakfast its your choice once again to decide whether you want to canoe on the river or hike around the vicinity of the resort. Departure towards Paramaribo will be in the afternoon.
